A Tale From The Deep Woods

Description

Beneath the oak, I rest, bone weary,
Thirsting for a horn of ale or jug of mead,
And yet, how could a heathen man wish for any more,
Than the healing balms of English trees?

Do you actually visualise the compleated work before you take the photo? I got into photography because I thought the BW could better help me with my drawings. Visualizing a compleated composition before I had set out to do it, in color, was always easy. I looked at this as a thumbnail and thought of egg tempera.

Buy a sheet of Arches extra rough, soak it in a large tub overnight, hang it to dry. Don't disturb the "rug" of the surface while it's drying.
